Samenvatting: Three energy scenarios are described for the Netherlands for the period1995-2020. The scenarios are based on the long-term economic scenarios of the Dutch Central Planning Bureau (CPB). Several policy variants for the stimulation of energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy are presented and discussed. The most important policy issues: (1) liberalization of the energy markets; (2) the role of renewable energy; (3) dematerialization in the energy intensive industry; (4) the energy infrastructure in new housing development plans, and (5) the efficiency of governmental policy for energy conservation) are dealt with in separate chapters. 40 refs.
