Samenvatting:
In this paper the use of the partial oxidation process within a gasturbine cycle is addressed. In a partial oxidation reaction fuel is oxidized
in a sub-stoichiometric atmosphere at a pressure and a temperature similar to
those in the combustion chamber of a conventional turbine. Following the
sub-stoichiometric stage, oxidation of the fuel is completed in the final
stage. The absence of excess air in the first stages makes it possible to
reduce the work required by the compressor and to decrease NOx formation. To
assess the partial oxidation concept, several gas turbine systems were
simulated and optimized. The results of the comparison study and exergy
analysis of the cycles considered are presented. 24 refs.
