        Samenvatting:
        The six papers in this report, which are presented during the titleconference, deal with the following subjects: (1) Strategies for the
transmutation of americium; (2) Transmutation of plutonium in pebble bed type
high temperature reactors; (3) Benchmark comparisons of calculations of LWR
fuel cells with uranium-free fuels; (4) Inert matrices, uranium-free
plutonium fuels and americium targets. Synthesis of CAPRA ('Consommation
Accrue de Plutonium dans les Rapides'), SPIN ('Separation et Incineration')
and EFTTRA (Experimental Feasibility of Targets for Transmutation) studies;
(5) Development of fuels for the transmutation in the frame of the EFTTRA
European collaboration; and (6) On the use of spinel-based nuclear fuels for
the transmutation of actinides. 16 figs., 23 tabs., 65 refs.
