Samenvatting:
The overall objective of the SUSPLAN project is to present a set of guidelines, consisting of strategies, recommendations, criteria and benchmarks for more efficient integration of renewable energies, with special emphasis on pan-European harmonisation. As a basis for developing these guidelines, the project has executed a number of regional case studies (WP2) and transnational case studies (WP3) to address the challenges and opportunities of integrating renewable energy sources into the European energy system in the time frame to 2050, under different possible future. The project has also specifically addressed key barriers; technical and non-technical in WP5.
This report concludes task 5.1 of the SUSPLAN project. The focus of task 5.1 has been on the design of innovative institutional and incentive frameworks for overcoming non-technical barriers to the grid integration of RES-E/G.
