Samenvatting:
For energy conversion systems, like combined heat and power systems witha strongly varying demand for heat and electrical energy or even C02 in
greenhouses, it is often difficult to size the components. Especially when
different primary energy converters like burners for heat, fuel cells for
heat and electrical power and energy storage devices are part of the system.
Either way the optimal component size and strategy to fill or use the energy
devices have to be found. In case of the existence of difficult primary
energy converters, it is also interesting to know when to switch them on or
off. This is all with respect to cost minimisation Or C02 production. There
are problems that are sometimes also mutually conflicting. With PRODESign, an
acronym of PRogram for Optimisation and Dimensioning of Energy conversion
Systems, integrated energy systems, composed of different components, can be
optimised. These components are (sustainable or conventional) energy
conversion or storage devices. The degrees of freedom are free to choose. The
optimisation criterion can be costs, primary energy use, CO2 production. A
constraint or requirement for optimisation is an external demand for e.g.
electrical energy, heat or CO2-production for fertilisation in greenhouses.
The result of the optimisation is a quasi-dynamic strategy for component use,
optimal size of the components, fitting of a (large scale) system to the
public energy supply system. 5 refs.
