Samenvatting:
A sugar industry in the Netherlands (Suikerunie) ordered ECN toinvestigate the possibility to recover nitrogen oxides from flue gases via
the cultivation of algae in a bioreactor. Thereto, NOx must be removed in
washing water which then can be used as a feed for algae cultures. A
literature survey has been carried out to find out if and how NOx can
efficiently be removed by means of gas washing. The results show the main
reactions of wet removal of NOx from gaseous wastes, and descriptions of
technologies. 4 refs.
