Samenvatting:
For the purpose of the study on the title method a number of wastematerials (polluted dredge slurry, fly ash from waste incinerators, Zinc
ashes and natural gas production sludge) has been tested by four techniques
(cement stabilization, application of bituminous binders, sintering and
vitrification) after immobilization. The leaching effectiveness can be
subdivided under the aspects composition, availability, tortuosity, and
chemical retention, by which the quality improvement of immobilization can be
indicated. From the results of the determination of the leaching
effectiveness of the waste materials - testing techniques combinations it is
clear that the materials can be characterized quite well. Environmental
indices, by which different components can be weighed in comparison with a
standard, are applied to show the quality of the immobilization methods. 22
