Samenvatting:
The overall purpose of the presentation is to give a brief assessment of the main options for the key design elements of the so-called ‘New Market Mechanisms’ (NMMs), including both sectoral carbon crediting and trading mechanisms. More particularly, the main issues discussed include:

  • What are key NMM design elements?
  • Why include these elements in the UNFCCC „modalities and procedures??
  • What are the main options for each design element?
  • What are the major merits („pros?) and shortcomings („cons?) of different options?
