Samenvatting:
This report describes the results from the second phase of IEA Task 29 Mexnext, denoted as Mexnext-II. In this project 21 institutes from 10 different countries cooperated. The goal of Mexnext-II was to analyse detailed aerodynamic measurements taken on a large variety of wind turbine configurations. Most but not all experiments were carried out in a wind tunnel environment. A limited number of experiments were taken in the field. The analysis of these data led to several insights and recommendations for aerodynamic model improvement which, together with the fact that the analysed data are stored in a base already fulfills the original objectives of the project. In the original project description no new measurements were foreseen and the analysis was supposed to use existing data only. However in the beginning of 2012, the EU Aerospace program ESWIRP opened a call for free measurements to be taken in the large German Dutch Wind Tunnel DNW. Within this call the Mexnext consortium proposed the new MEXICO experiment which consists of pressure and flow field measurements on a 4.5 meter rotor in the DNW using experiences gained from the earlier MEXICO experiment. In March 2012 ESWIRP approved this new MEXICO experiment after which the preparation and the performance of the new MEXICO experiment was added to the Mexnext-II project. The new MEXICO measurements were taken in July 2014 and led to a base of unique very high quality new MEXICO data. Some analysis of the measurements has already been carried out in Mexnext-II. However the amount of data is huge and further analysis needs to be done in Mexnext-II
