Samenvatting:
Potentially interesting projects concerning energy conservation andrenewable energy options in the Dutch province North-Holland are screened.
The focus is not only on the feasibility and environmental merit of the
projects, but also pays attention to effects on the local economic structure
and local employment. Seven ideas for projects are selected for
investigation: energy scans to determine energy conservation potential in
individual businesses; financial constructions to stimulate the
implementation of energy saving measures (e.g. differentiation of tariffs);
facility management (contracting or tendering of energy saving services); the
use of wind energy in the agricultural business (cattle breeding and
farming); the cultivation of energy crops; the combined application of energy
optimization, CO2, and cogeneration in greenhouses; and eel fisheries. 3
